All of the organisms in the Philippines get their energy from the sun. Many of the main producers that grow in the Philippines are swampy plants because of the rain forest climate. Many mangrove swamps take up the costal region plant life; mangroves are tree-like plants that adapted to frequent flooding and lack of fresh water. Many birds live in the mangrove region, but with flooding, seeds and small insects are washed away. This forces the birds to migrate to different costal swamps to find food.
With flooding, pollution occurs because of crosses with sewage and fresh water. This affects the marine life in the mangrove areas. The animals that live in this region have adapted to the constant flow of salt water, so then fresh and salt mix it causes a disturbance in the animals water supply. Also, the pollution in the water would kill many of the marine life.
